Moon to Appear “Super Blue Blood Moon” on January 31

Going in for some once in a lifetime celestial show for sky gazers as the moon is set to become the Super Moon, the Blue Moon and Blood Moon all in one night of January 31, 2018.

As confirmed by GMA Network’s resident meteorologist, Nathaniel Cruz or best known as Mang Tani, the moon is set to become the Super Moon, the Blue Moon and Blood Moon, all in one night. He further claimed that such celestial phenomenon last occurred in 1886.

Noting PAGASA-DOST’s astronomical calendar, Mang Tani claimed that the Super Moon usually occurs when the moon is at its closest distance to Earth, while a Blue Moon is the second full moon in a given month, which is also a rare lunar event.

Meanwhile, a Blood Moon commonly takes place during a total lunar eclipse, wherein the moon becomes red or copper in color.

All of the above-said celestial show will happen to the Moon this coming Wednesday, January 31, 2018, and as earlier said, this only happens once in a lifetime so watch out for it . Happy sky gazing!
