Scientists have some good revelation to women who are having hard time shaving off their unwanted fats.

According to a study, women who have larger deposits of fat layers give birth to smarter children.

Professor Will Lassek, a public-health epidemiologist at Pittsburg University in Pennsylvania, claimed that fat areas surrounding the thigh, butt and hips help a child’s development.

As it turns out, the development of the nervous system of a child in the womb depends on the DNA-rich fats that are stored around the curvy hips, butt and thighs. But don’t worry as said fat will get lost later on during breastfeeding stage.

Lassek explained that women have traded muscle for fat, and they usually lose around one pound of fat in a month during their breastfeeding stage. Lassek believes that those fats are very crucial for the child’s brain development. He saw an evolutionary link between the enlargement of the brains and the addition of fat layers in women.

Apparently, over the course of five million years, the human brains have tripled in size. Thus, to keep up with the demands of the babies’ brains, women have likewise evolved to carry more fat reserves.

Moreover, women aren’t the only ones who have taken on proper evolutionary traits for this significant change.

According to David Bainbridge, a reproductive biologist at Cambridge University, the recent findings could likely point to the reason as to why lots of men get more attracted to curvy women – although most of them are unaware of it, such attraction has got a lot to do with the development of more intelligent offspring.

Bainbridge also backs Lassek in his findings that the necessary brain-building breast-milk lipids come chiefly from the fats around the thighs and buttocks. Therefore, women with larger thighs and behind are more possibly to raise smarter children.
